Pick a card · 5–9 November 2026The Quiet Before the Scorpio New Moon: Pick a Card for What You're Ready to Release
We're in the softest, most inward part of the lunar month. The Moon is a thin waning crescent, Mercury has just met the Sun in the heart of Scorpio, and Venus is finishing her retrograde in Libra. It's a sky that asks you to tidy up the inner rooms before the New Moon on 9 November opens a fresh door. Breathe, choose the card that pulls at you, and see what it has to say.
The sky right now
Waning crescent Moon (balsamic phase). About 14% lit on 5 November, moving from Virgo into Libra during the day. The last few days before a New Moon are for rest, release and clearing space.
Mercury retrograde in Scorpio. Mercury met the Sun (a "cazimi") on 4 November, a moment of sudden clarity in the middle of the retrograde. It stations direct on 13 November, so the theme is still review: old conversations, buried truths, unfinished paperwork.
Venus retrograde in Libra, sextile Jupiter in Leo. On 5 November Venus and Jupiter make a supportive angle: generosity and warmth help you revisit a relationship, an agreement or your own sense of worth. Venus also turns direct around 13–14 November.
Mars in Leo, heading toward Jupiter. Mars enters the pre-retrograde shadow around now and meets Jupiter in Leo on 15 November. Big creative fire is building, but it rewards plans made with patience.
New Moon in Scorpio, 9 November (07:02 UTC / 2:02 am Eastern) at about 17° Scorpio: a deep, private reset point.
Saturn, Neptune and Uranus are also retrograde this month, so the whole sky leans toward revision rather than racing ahead.
